Limit X
It was great having Limit Xin the studio, what a group of humble men full of joy and faithful witnesses of the grace of God.
Here's their Bio,
Imagine going to bed after having seen a movie on the Holocaust, only to have nightmares of agonizing blood curdling screams of innocent people being shot to death. You bolt out of bed to realize it was only a dream. For three young boys from Kampala, Uganda in East Africa, it was no nightmare or movie. It was real life growing up under the tyranny of Idi Amin and subsequent military regimes. It is nothing short of the miraculous that these three boys who were so exposed to death, have become young men who sing about life all over the world.
Dennis Sempebwa, Isaac Rucibigango and Paul Mutebi came from humble beginnings as youth ministers and worship leaders at the Miracle Center Church in Kampala, Uganda. They began their singing career in 1987. Their performances in churches, schools and colleges quickly led to the success of their group called The New Wave Band. The group gained even more popularity as co-hosts with their pastor Robert Kayanja, in a weekly show on Uganda National Television in 1988 and soon became a household name. In 1989, the group moved to London, England and changed their name as their ministry expanded to new frontiers. Since the unlimited power of God had been so evident in their own lives, they changed their name to 'LIMIT X', which means "our God has no limits". They quickly became one of the most prominent gospel music groups in the U.K. In 1992, LIMIT X won the Club 291 contest, which was the British version of the New York Apollo Contest. In the same year, they won the award for "Best British New Artist" at the D.M.I. European Music Awards (then equivalent to the American Dove Awards). In addition, their first CD, Unashamed made its way into Britain's Top Ten Recommended Gospel Albums Charts.
